The Social U

There are few words in the English language that, when uttered, consistently bring a smile to the face of those that hear them. This site is dedicated to one of those words. And that word, is COLLEGE. So welcome to the SocialU! This site was developed for one reason, to maximize the college experience. I am a Wake Forest University Demon Deacon, which means my school is a small self-contained campus with very little city life in Winston Salem, NC. So as opposed to big city or large state schools with tons of bars and clubs, we live a college life that follows the NASA mentality…sit around and think shit up. So whether we are planning the 8am party of Green Eggs & Dam, competing in races such as Indy, studying abroad in Barcelona, organizing the tailgate for the Deacons first ever Orange Bowl, or even acting scholarly to host a Presidential Debate, this is our lifestyle.

So this got me thinking, what goes on at other schools and can we steal some of the great ideas? If we were able to do these things in Winston Salem, I began to think what it would be like to attend the University of Florida, Texas, Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, or a big city school like Boston College or NYU! Shit, I’d like to know what goes on at Boise State! We all know about the different Spring Break destinations but I want to know about the hidden gems like at the University of South Carolina where the Carolina Cup is huge or at UVA where post exams is the best invention since the TV.

So what if we could take something cool from different schools and incorporate them into our four years at college? We would then be living 1460 to the max because that’s all you get…1460 days in college and then it’s over. Everything that is a possibility from a Theme Party, Study Abroad, Campus Cribs, or Road Trips. 1460 days of no regrets.
